Project Name: Woodhouse Netball Court Renovation
Project Address: Woodhouse High School, Bradford
Size of Project: 4 no tennis courts & 4 no netball courts
Works Carried Out: A full upgrade of a large MUGA, which included replacing the old chain link fencing with new twin bar sports fencing, and the macadam sports surface was painted with a new non-slip acrylic colour coating. The design specification stated that the acrylic anti-slip coating was to be a light green and dark green two-tone colour. To finish, the courts were line marked for 4 tennis courts and 4 netball courts.
“Alumasc Surfacing was able to notice the risk of the school’s old court fence/surfacing whilst carrying out the school’s new synthetic sports pitch. The new fence is much stronger, and the acrylic paint has transformed the sports court.”
Existing Netball / Tennis MUGA Court: Alongside the full construction of the artificial sports pitch the school’s netball court’s chain link fencing was becoming hazardous and needed urgent attention. The macadam sports surface was also looking in need of an upgrade.
Chicken Wire Fence Removal: Removal vans were in place to remove the existing chicken wire fencing, also known as chain link fencing. The chain link fencing can be rolled compactly for quick and safe removal. Once the old fencing was completely removed the new posts were installed for the twin bar sports fence.
New Sports Twin Bar Fencing: The installation of the new 3m high sports fence was successfully completed within the timescale set by the school. The fence is made from steel and is guaranteed to protect the court for many years without the need for frequent maintenance. The fence consists of a twin bar mesh panel system which is a much more wearable structure for specific sports such as netball.
Completed Sports Court Upgrade: The sports court has acrylic paint installed on the macadam surface and line marking for 4 tennis courts and 4 netball courts. The chain link fence has been upgraded to twin bar solid panel sports fencing.
